Sage Horsley Obituary

Sage Anthony Horsley
March 18, 2000 – January 17, 2026

Sage Anthony Horsley was born on March 18, 2000, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Amanda Horsley and David Ferguson. He passed away on January 17, 2026, and is now with the Lord.

Sage was raised by his loving mother in Florida alongside his siblings, and later moved to Indiana to be with his father. He belonged to a large, beautiful family and will forever be remembered as a very proud brother to all nine of his siblings. He always made time for family visits and for texting his younger siblings on their iPads.

Sage was a young man often noted for his bravery and fearlessness. His father would often say, “He wasn’t afraid to do anything.” Everyone who knew Sage was proud of his work ethic—if he had time to spare, he had time to work (or fish!).

Sage was a bright light in a dark world. His goofy personality and occasional lack of filter were known to make entire job sites erupt in laughter. His caring nature was something truly special. While Sage worked for Midwest Restoration, it was not uncommon to find him spending weekends doing side jobs—sometimes free of charge—simply because someone needed a helping hand.

Sage was preceded in death by his beautiful mother, Amanda Horsley; his grandparents, Kenneth Horsley and Bernadette Showalter; and his cousin, Silas Heller.

He is survived by his father and stepmother, David and Martie Ferguson; his siblings Satori, Shawn, Sebastian, Jeremiah, and Jonathan; his step-siblings Brian, Nathan, Isaiah, and Ceirra; his grandparents Paul and Nancy Ferguson; his aunt Valerie (Vincent) Heller; his uncle Chris Ferguson; eight cousins; and his fiancée, Lexi Benson.

Sage’s family would like to share a special message with anyone struggling with depression or mental illness: please say something to someone. Do not make the unnecessary mistake of thinking you are alone. You are a very important person to far more people than you may realize.

“The Lord Himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”
—Deuteronomy 31:8
